Wage: Unpaid.
Qualifications: Applicants must be fluent in Cantonese. Those who are fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin will have priority. A commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA and a background check (including fingerprinting) are required (YMCA will cover fees). Must be computer literate and have a friendly, welcoming personality.
Duties:
Responsibilities will include:
- Greeting members and answering questions
- Answering main phone line
- Processing membership applications and paperwork
- Processing cash, check, and credit card transactions
- Giving facility tours to prospective members
- Translation tasks
- Outreach to potential members in the Chinatown community.
Housing: Housing is acquired independently by the intern.

YMCA Chinatowns provides after school programs, free fitness in three neighborhood schools, teen center, mentoring, art and ballet classes, family programming, and summer programs to the community.
